What do I like about Summer?, aside from the great beach weather and thoughts of sinking your feet in warm sand? Well for amateur basketball fans, its the time for recruitment season in the both the UAAP and NCAA. Well actually, recruitment begins right after the end of the respective league seasons the year before.

Coaches have more time to scope out talent in the highschool leagues. Offers of course are tendered and try-out invites are given. But even then, one can’t really know for sure where the prized recruits are going. Sure you can hear a lot of scuttlebutt on the web and in newspapers that this player is going to that school, but with at least 3 or more school vying for that players services, you can’t really tell till you see that guy on campus, books and all.

So what can a basketball fan do to cool off from all that heated anticipation? Sit back, relax, enjoy the NBA Playoffs and Finals, and watch the preseason leagues.
